The Nominating Committee solicits the membership for input during the selection process and it is deemed that the nominees presented are the candidates of the membership. However, any member in good standing in the Association may make additional nominations by petition. The member must contact the President at least 10* days prior to the annual meeting, submitting the petition in writing, endorsed with the signatures of at least 10 other members, as specified in Article IX, Section 1 (c) of the Association’s bylaws. Documentary Film Watch Party 🗓

Please join your fellow NJLLA and LLAGNY members for an in-person watch party of Jon Osaki’s documentary film, Alternative Facts: The Lies of Executive Order 9066, followed by a Q&A with Jon Osaki, in recognition of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This watch party will be simulcast for members of LLAGNY, to foster unity with our peers across the Hudson!

Summer associate season brings both exciting energy and real preparation challenges for law firm librarians. How do you equip a cohort of law students with the research skills and tools they need to hit the ground running — often in just a matter of weeks? This one-hour member roundtable will explore how law librarians can prepare to support summer associates before the summer and as they arrive at their firms.

Featuring speakers from both a law firm and a law school, this discussion will highlight expectations from each side of the pipeline—what students learn in law school, what firms expect when they arrive, and how librarians can bridge the gap. Panelists will share practical strategies for onboarding, research training and resource orientation.

Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss common challenges, and share approaches that have been effective at their own institutions. This interactive session is designed for anyone working with summer associates in a law school or law firm setting.

Relocating or downsizing a law library presents a unique set of logistical and strategic challenges. Join fellow law librarians for an engaging discussion about the real-world challenges of relocating collections, reimagining space, and letting go of print materials in an increasingly digital world.

Our panel will share stories, lessons learned, and creative solutions for tackling tight space constraints, managing stakeholder expectations, transitioning to online versions, and finding responsible ways to downsize or dispose of print volumes. Whether your library is preparing for a big move or simply trying to make room for the future, you’ll leave with practical ideas, fresh perspectives, and maybe even a little inspiration for turning upheaval into opportunity.
