Our November meeting, “Legal Education Looking Forward,” is fast approaching. At the meeting, dynamic speaker Caroline Hatton will give a lively review of the speeches given at a recent symposium she organized on the future of legal education — a topic of vital importance to our profession. We are grateful to her for volunteering her time, and encourage you to attend.

A bit more about our speaker: Hatton was a summer associate at Riker Danzig in 2013 and will be returning as an associate following a clerkship at the New Jersey Supreme Court with Chief Justice Stuart Rabner. She is currently in her last year at Seton Hall, where she is the Symposium Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and is the French Table founder and leader.

Caroline received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in French from Rutgers  University in 1996, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received a Ph.D. in French from Yale University in 2004. Prior to law school, Caroline served as an adjunct professor of French at Yale University, Williams College, and Drew University. In 2012, she served as an intern for the Honorable Jack Sabatino, New Jersey Superior Court and the Honorable Michael H. Dolinger, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

At our November meeting, Caroline Hatton, a student at Seton Hall Law School and the Symposium Editor of Seton Hall Law Review, will give a review of speeches made at a recent symposium she organized on the future of legal education.  The distinguished speakers included deans and professors from several law schools, judges and practicing attorneys, as well as Paulette Brown, the President-Elect of the American Bar Association, who gave the keynote address entitled “Maintaining the Relevancy of a Law School Education in an Evolving Profession.”

The NJLLA Program Committee would like to remind our members of this week’s 25th Anniversary program at the Newark Museum. Details are here, and please remember that the Community Service Committee is collecting school supplies at this program as well.
